How do I know if my child should move to the next level?2020-04-02T12:31:59+00:00

Every student learns skills at different rates. You should never look at another student and wonder why your child isn’t learning at the same pace. Swimming is a skill that takes time, patience and plenty of practice. Therefore, students will be tested for their step up and rewards that signify they have mastered the skills associated with a particular class level when their instructors believe they are ready.

What should I bring to the lesson?2020-04-02T15:48:18+00:00

All students must wear appropriate swimwear.  It is mandatory that all non-toilet trained swimmers, regardless of age, wear a swim diaper. Children who are under age 4, newly potty-trained or not potty-trained must also wear a permanent swim diaper. A permanent swim diaper is a washable, reusable diaper that has elastic at the waist and the legs. Bowel movements in the pool can be a health hazard and may force us to cancel classes. Do not substitute: plastic training pants or regular diapers of any kind. We have Swim Academy Fini Diapers here for $19.99.

While it is not required, we highly recommend that little girls wear one-piece swimsuits and as they attain the level where flip turns are required in the pool, boys may feel more comfortable wearing mid-length jammers.

Any student that has hair long enough to get in their eyes, face or mouth is required to pull hair back and secure or wear a swim cap. This enhances the comfort of our swimmers.

Googles may be worn by children who have completed and /or tested out of our learn to swim program and are furthering in their stroke development classes.

Your swimmer will also want a towel and water to rehydrate after class.
